A Potpourri Of Accurate Motion Picture Write Ups

By Brett Stanley

For a long time we have used the video store as one of our main ways to access movies. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. You will find just about any movie you want with a good movie download site, below is a small sample.

Boot Hill: Western ravioli representing another of the traditional teaming of blue-eyed, stone-jawed Hill and his bear of a associate Spencer. Trinity Rides Once more. Cast includes Terence Hill, Bud Spencer, Woody Strode, Winner Bono, Lionel Stander, and Eduardo Ciannelli. (87 minutes, 1969)

Bring It On: This is a battle of the cheerleaders. Last years championship team faces tough competition from a new hip-hop style team from the inner city. The high school drama plays out with the new head cheerleader having to deal with the ill will that has developed between the two teams.

Gymkata: Winner acrobat Thomas megastars in this stupid martial arts potboiler, shot in Yugoslavia by the people who carried you Enter the Dragon. Amateurish stuff, based on Dan Tyler Moore's novel, The Detestable Game is a dud. Cast includes Kurt Thomas, Tetchie Agbayani, Richard Norton, and Edward Bell. (90 minutes, 1985)

The Choirboys: Allegedly joke adventures of LA. Cops who ease work pressures by raunchy doings. This is a Foul-mouthed, foul-minded, heavy handed film from book by Joseph Wambaugh, who disavowed this turkey. Cast includes Charles Durning, Louis Gossett, Jr., Perry Baron, Clyde Kusatsu, Stephen Macht, Tim McIntire, Randy Quaid, Don Stroud, and James Woods. (119 minutes, 1977)

Ivanhoe: Virtually a classic phenomenon harmed by dodgy inscribing of Walter Scott's fable of England in Middle Ages, in nights of chivalrous horsemen; beautifully photographed on location in Incredible Britain. Cast includes Robert Taylor, Joan Fontaine, Elizabeth Taylor, Evelyn Williams, George Sanders, Norman Wooland, and Basil Sydney. (106 minutes, 1952)

Quiz Show: This tells the true story of the 1958 game show called 21. Charles Van Doren had become a national folk hero. He had appeared on the cover of Time, and Life magazines. People would watch the show in amazement, as the Columbia University English instructor would answer the most amazing and obscure questions. Then they got caught. The whole thing was a scam. Investigator Richard Goodwin unearthed all the facts, and exposed the deception. America was left in shock.

Surf's Up: A true, fun for the whole family, animated action adventure. We follow surfer dude penguin Cody Maverick, as he tries to become a world champion surfer. HE travels from Antarctica all the way to the tropical island of Pen Gu Island to enter a big surf competition.

Fracture: Ted Crawford has learned that his wife has been having an affair. So, he kills her, after planning the perfect murder. He calls the police but only lets one policeman into the house. That man is Rob Nunally, the same man that was sleeping with Ted's wife. Ted Crawford is arrested. He admits to killing is wife. How can this be the perfect crime? Watch the movie and see if it was.

Malice: This is a complex intrigue thriller. When Dr. Jed Hill performs an emergency surgery on Tracy Safan, who is having abdominal pains, he removes more than he should during the surgery. Accusations and threats of lawsuits fly, but there is even more going on here than it seems.
