Learning How To Discipline Your Children Can Be Hard
Being a parent is tough and anyone who says otherwise clearly hasn't had endless sleepless nights with a baby or tantrums for no apparent reason from a 2 year old. One of the toughest parts of parenting is learning how to discipline your child. This part of parenting is hard whether you are a single family or a traditional family unit.
As we all move away from our families, both in distance and in the way we deal with situations, it can be hard to know where to go for help with understanding the best way to deal with your children. I always think that discipline and structure is the hardest part of parenting, because to much and it is oppressive and not enough and the kids run riot.
No matter what situation you are going through with your child or children you can be assured that you are not the first parent to experience it and you certainly won't be the last. Realizing this really helped me as it means I now go and do some research on the Internet before I make a final decision on how to deal with a situation about which i am unsure.
While I don't think the Internet has all the answers to every parenting problem, it sure does help to be able to read someone that you have grown to trusts perspective on the situation. No one apart from you can know how your child responds to any sort of discipline but it is nice to have another perspective on a situation
You wouldn't take any notice of someone who had never fixed a car if they offered advice on how to get your vehicle running would you? So why would you ever take advice about how to discipline your children from someone who hasnt had any?
Everyone needs to remember that the information you get from websites, the TV or magazines is just information, you are the parent so you are in charge of your own child's well being. Not all children are the same, so make sure you think about your own child and how they will react before you go and take any action that you read anywhere.
